Kainchi Dham is a sacred ashram built in 1964 by the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaj-ji). Located between Nainital and Almora on the banks of a small river, the ashram gets its name from the two sharp hairpin bends on the road ("kainchi" means scissors in Hindi). The ashram is known for its spiritual significance and has attracted devotees from around the world, including famous personalities like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.

Kainchi Dham can be visited throughout the year. However, the main Bhandara (feast) is celebrated twice a year - on June 15th (commemorating the day Neem Karoli Baba left his body) and September 15th. These dates see thousands of devotees gathering for prayers and prasad. The ashram is open from sunrise to sunset. Winter months (November-February) can be cold, while summers (March-June) offer pleasant weather for the visit.
